Fifth Grade Art, Music, and Math Collaboration!

The music teacher, math coach, and I just completed our collaborative unit involving the abstract artist Wassily Kandinsky!  This project was so neat because we were not only able to explore the connections between the visual arts, music and math through interactive art and music projects but we also went on a field trip to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts!  The images below show the final collaborative art product that involved every fifth grader at BES.  We even included QR codes to allow visitors at our school to further explore our unit.  Come by the school and scan these codes for yourself to learn more about Kandinsky and the talented 5th grade artists/musicians/and mathmaticians!! :)

Information about our unit

Information about the artist!

A break down of how the unit flowed in each class

Using the QR codes allows people to hear the musical product of this unit....

They also allow people to see our images from the VMFA trip!  SO COOL!...

And they help people view the work of Kandinsky!

And they can even take people to the work "Four Parts" so they can see the Kandinsky artwork that inspired us!
